REST API and Integrations
The J1600 treats systems integration as optional, not mandatory. Basic operation with Standard software requires no warehouse-management system (WMS), no fleet manager, and no IT integration — Wi-Fi itself is optional. When an application does call for integration, the Advanced software package provides the interfaces.
Integration is optional by design
Full automation projects often require WMS and fleet integration, expert configuration, and tightly controlled processes before the first pallet moves. The J1600's approach is the reverse: it works out of the box with teach-and-repeat tasks, and integration is added only when the application grows. This keeps entry cost and deployment time low for a first robot. See Human-in-the-loop automation for the philosophy behind this design.
What Advanced software provides
- REST API — a software interface for integrating the J1600 with other software and equipment.

Setting up an integration
Integration with other software and equipment is available as an add-on to the installation and commissioning package, together with Fleet Management System setup and additional validated drop points. The Advanced software upgrade itself is easiest to install at the factory when the robot is ordered; a partner can install it later, but customers cannot.
Related connectivity facts
- Wi-Fi is optional for the basic out-of-box workflow and can be connected during installation Day 1 if desired.
