VDA 5050

VDA 5050 is an interoperability interface for multi-vendor mobile-robot fleets. It lets robots from different vendors work together in the same space under a compatible fleet-management layer, instead of each brand requiring its own isolated control system.

J1600 support

The J1600 has full VDA 5050 support. The interface is part of the Advanced software package; Standard software does not include it.

The Mobile Robot Company works with established VDA 5050 fleet-management providers, so the J1600 can be brought into an existing VDA 5050 fleet installation rather than requiring a dedicated one.

Why it matters

Many facilities already run, or plan to run, mobile robots from more than one vendor. With VDA 5050:

• the J1600 can coexist with other vendors' robots under one fleet layer;
• traffic and task coordination happen in the fleet manager, not in per-brand silos;
• adding the J1600 to an automated site does not force a rip-and-replace of the existing fleet software.

Getting started

VDA 5050 operation requires the Advanced software upgrade, which is easiest to install at the factory when the robot is ordered — a partner can add it later, but customers cannot install it themselves.
