Battery UN 38.3 Documentation

What UN 38.3 is
UN 38.3 is subsection 38.3 of the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria. Lithium cells and batteries must pass its test series before they may be transported, whether installed in equipment or shipped separately. The tests subject cells and batteries to transport conditions such as altitude simulation, thermal cycling, vibration, shock, external short circuit, and overcharge.
Why it matters for the J1600
The J1600 runs on a 24 V, 200 Ah lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery. Shipping a vehicle with a lithium battery falls under dangerous-goods transport rules, and carriers and freight forwarders commonly ask for evidence of UN 38.3 testing before accepting such a shipment. The J1600's compliance list names UN 38.3 as its battery transport-testing reference.
